Join us for a practical conversation about personal and workplace safety, with a focus on situations REALTORS® may encounter every day, from meeting clients alone and touring properties to working in unfamiliar environments.

You’ll learn simple, realistic strategies for recognizing potential risks, staying aware of your surroundings, identifying exits and avenues of escape, and knowing when it’s time to disengage or ask for help. The goal is to give you practical tools you can use in both your professional and personal life to feel more prepared and confident when the unexpected happens.

Instructor: Travis Smith
Travis Smith is the Patrol Commander for the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office with approximately 18 years of civilian law enforcement experience, following prior service in the United States Army.

A Montana native, Travis has served in a variety of leadership and specialized roles, including Deputy Sheriff, Corporal, Patrol Sergeant, Training Sergeant, SWAT Team Member, Marksman/Observer, Explosive Breaching Lead, and SWAT Team Leader.

Travis has extensive training and instructional experience in active assailant response and has provided training to law enforcement officers, civilians, teachers and educators, business leaders, and local businesses.

Outside of work, Travis is a husband and father of two teenagers and remains deeply connected to the Montana community he has spent his career serving.
